Community Emergency Response Teams (CERT) are made up of local Pierce County members of all ages, geographical locations, and economic levels. The only requirement to receive Basic CERT training is a desire to participate and respond to disasters in their local areas and assist professional emergency response agencies, (police, fire, EMT’s, etc.) in their areas.
CERT training is available from FEMA trained and certified teams and individuals throughout the Pierce County area. Training includes classes on disaster preparedness and response skills such as fire safety, search and rescue, neighborhood team organization and basic medical triage techniques.
CERT volunteers are encouraged to support local emergency response agencies by taking an active role in local preparedness projects
See the Citizen Corps Council of Pierce County Training page or any Board member for more information concerning CERT training locations, dates and times.
